Manufacturing Process

Material & Blank Prep

EN24 bar/flat sourced with MTC; blanks rough-machined to within 1mm of finish; heat-treated to HRC 38–42

Gear Hobbing (Pinion)

Pinion hobbed on gear hobbing machine to module and tooth count; tooth profile checked on comparator

Rack Milling / Hobbing

Gear rack teeth milled using module hob on CNC; rack length butted for zero-backlash joints

Finish Machining

Bore, keyway, and mounting surfaces finish-machined; rack mounting faces ground flat

Matched Set Testing

Pinion meshed with rack on test fixture; backlash measured at 5 positions along rack length; noise check

Marking & Documentation

Module, tooth count, material, and heat number marked on each part; dimensional report and MTC issued
